Traction NOT Named Best Small Agency
By Adam Kleinberg
This week, iMedia announced the winners of the 2013 iMedia Agency Awards in Scottsdale Arizona. Traction did not win the award for Small Agency of the Year. We were the runner up!
We were, however, one of five small agencies out of hundreds that entered chosen as a finalist for that award. In my view, that's one hell of an honor.
A huge congratulations goes out to the overall winner, Likeable Media, and to the other finalists in the category: Bailey Lauerman, LazBro and Phenomblue. We consider you all fine company to keep and were proud as hell to compete against you. Same goes to the host of great agencies nominated in other categories including Weiden + Kennedy, AKQA, Pereira & Odell, Deep Focus, JUXT, 360i, Horizon and DDB.
2013 was a great year where Traction took home a silver Small Agency of the Year award from Ad Age and the overall Interactive Agency of the Year award from BtoB Magazine. With so many terrific shops out there doing great work, we feel humbled to be recognized by our industry at all. Truly thankful to the folks who made those decisions.

Today, as user experience designers, now need to consider the story that lives within our pages, not just the user flows that connect them together.
In a few weeks, I'll be moderating a panel at ad:tech NYC featuring senior marketing and design leaders from Yahoo!, Bank of America, MasterCard and GE on the topic of Why User Experience is the New Black.
