The Not OK Project
By Traction
It has been a rough year. And if you are like us, you are now struggling with the realization that our nation may not be as open, equal, and free as we once thought it was.
The new administration is making motions towards policies that are not only un-American – but are unlawful, unethical, and unconstitutional.
Reports of hate crimes have surged since November 8th, proving that bigotry, misogyny, racism, and xenophobia are becoming normalized.
We need a message that unifies our current state of mind. A message that stands up for what we believe in. A message that represents our own feelings of disillusionment and despair—that says what is happening right now is not normal, not acceptable, and not going to happen on our watch.
To that end, we've created The Not OK Project that aims to let people unite in solidarity against attacks on the fundamental freedoms of all. Now you can wear your feelings on your sleeve (or label, bag or chest), because we as a nation are NOT OK with this new version of America.
Our platform is not to directly admonish the new administration (as tempting as it is) — but to make a stand against the abhorrent behaviors and wrong-minded shifts that may be used or promoted under their watch.
All proceeds of sales from The Not OK Project will be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union to lead the fight to protect people's constitutional rights.
Facebook has reported inaccuracies in their measurement of ad metrics on three separate occasions since September.
This year's Brexit and Trump election victory were just two examples that it's no longer business as usual.
