100 Fastest Growing Companies in the Bay Area

Traction made the San Francisco Business Times list of the Fastest Growing Companies in the Bay Area... by the skin of our teeth.

We are listed as #100 out of 100!

Apparently, #100 is a sweet spot to be in because when I saw the article and clicked on it, I was greeted with a big shot of my bald head. They had a slideshow in reverse order and Traction is first up.

Of course, we're proud to find ourselves anywhere on that list. The Bay Area is home to the world's most game-changing, innovative and revolutionary companies in the entire planet and to be anywhere near the top of that heap feels like a huge accomplishment.

The survey measures growth over a three-year period (in this case from 2010 to 2012) and Traction achieved 67% growth.

From the looks of things, we're probably adding another 25% on top of that in 2013. They sent me a short questionnaire and asked me about "the decision that most influenced fast growth." My answer was, "Not growing so fast that we jeopardize the work." With the exception of 2010 where we took a big hit from the economy, Traction has grown between 20%-40% every year for the past decade. The result has been even as we've grown and evolved, we've been able to preserve our culture and continue to deliver work that I'm proud of.

Congrats to all the other amazing companies on the list!
